From 1985 to 1990 he worked as a stage and set painter at the Kiev City Theatre.
When he left the stage again after around five years to work as a freelance artist, his style had already developed to such an extent that he was able to sell his works and paintings with his own signature style quite well. “After the social upheaval at the beginning of the 90s, the time was also ripe for art,” recalls Zakharov.
He has lived and worked in Münsterland since 1993 – initially in Telgte, and for some years now on a former farm between Wolbeck and Angelmodde.
Since 1997 Alexander G. Zakharov has been a member of the Print Club of New York New York, a member of the Youth Department of Artists Union Moscow.
