His roots come from Rhenish Expressionism. In the 1950s, he was at the height of his time.
Over the course of around 50 years, Hans Vincenz’s artistic development, despite his independence, ran parallel to the development of renowned colleagues who, like him, had their finger on the pulse of the times.
His first works (1920 to 1930) reflect the position of Rhenish Expressionism in its purest form. At the beginning of the 1950s, he increasingly turned to abstract painting.
If one can still detect references to the landscape painting of his earlier years in some of his abstract works, he concentrated more and more on pure play with materials, colours and structures. <\/p>\n
